Who should get a Buyer’s Pass or Flower Market Access Pass?

Greengrocers, Providores, food business manufacturers, restaurant/cafe owners, caterers, florists, event managers with a valid and current ABN should get an Access/Buyer’s Pass.


What does a General Trading Area (GTA) Buyer’s Pass allow me to do?

You will be allowed entry to access the Sydney Growers Market Building D, Sydney Produce Market Buildings A, B, and C; and the Banana Market Building E. These buildings are where wholesale fruit and vegetables are sold by wholesale agents and growers from 3.00 am Monday and Friday and from 4.00 am Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.


What does a Flower Market Access Pass allow me to do?

You will be allowed early access from 5am on Mondays to Fridays to the Sydney Flower Market Building F and trade with the flower growers and wholesalers.


Can I share my Buyer’s Pass with my staff/colleague?

No, you cannot share or transfer your Buyer’s Pass to another person. Each Buyer’s Pass is valid for the person to whom it is issued. You are required to take a photograph when you pick up your Buyer’s Pass. It is an identification card with your photo, name, and business name.


Are members of the General Public allowed to access the wholesale market?

No, access to Sydney Growers Market Building D, Sydney Produce Market Buildings A, B, and C; and the Banana Market Building E during the Restricted Monday to Friday trading hours is now limited to those with a registered Buyer’s Pass. Members of the public are encouraged to shop at Paddy’s Markets Flemington Building D every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.


How long is my Pass valid for?

The Buyer’s Passes are valid for the financial year July to June at the time of registration for a Buyer’s Pass. E.g. If you have registered for a Buyer’s Pass in December 2023, your pass expires on 30 June 2024.


How much does a Buyer’s Pass cost?

The current cost of the Buyer’s Pass for 2023-2024 are as follows:

  1. General Trading Area Pass ONLY - $56 ex GST / $61.60 incl GST
  2. Flower Market ONLY - $32 ex GST / $35.55 incl GST
  3. General Trading Area Pass AND Flower Market ONLY - $88 ex GST / $97.15 incl GST

Where can I register and pay for a Buyer’s Pass?

You can only register for a Buyer’s Pass online at www.smlbuyersdashboard.com.au. There are no paper registrations for this pass. Please prepare your business information and credit card to make a secure payment for the Buyer’s Pass. As soon as you have registered and paid, you should immediately receive an email invoice and instructions on where to collect your pass. Please check your spam/junk folder just in case.

Where do I collect my Buyer’s Pass?

If you applied for a General Trading Area (GTA) pass, or a combination GTA & Flower Market pass, you can collect your pass at Market Central in front of Building B on Centre Road; open Monday to Friday 4am to 9am.

If you applied for a Flower Market Only pass, you can collect your pass at the Flower Market office at Building F, open Monday to Friday 5am to 9am.

Please bring along with you a personal identification (e.g. driver’s license or passport), and the Sydney Markets email invoice as proof of payment and registration of your Buyer’s Pass. You will be asked to take a photograph on the spot for your Buyer’s Pass as identification.


How do I renew my Buyer’s Pass?

It is the same process as registering for a Buyer’s Pass, where you will need to login with your email or mobile number that you used to register for your Buyer’s Pass.


Does the Buyer’s Pass allow me free entry into the Market?

No, your Buyer’s Pass does not cover any Sydney Markets parking permits and daily casual entry fees. If you require a parking permit, please visit the Cashiers Office in Building D.


How will my information submitted to the Buyer’s Pass registration be used?

By registering for a Buyer’s Pass with Sydney Markets Limited, we will be able to communicate with you about any relevant Sydney Markets news, trading hours or public holiday closures, industry news, as well as access to our Fresh Awards recognition if you fall within the eligibility criteria. You also agree to the Sydney Markets Limited’s Privacy Policy.
